This is the place to be! This tutorial is meant to cut through all of the confusing tutorials on the internet, and show you how to finally get your HC modules working together. I personally struggled for days trying to get mine working, and simply couldn't.

I pulled through however, and here is an all encompassing tutorial meant to be the end all, be all of master, and slave connections, no matter the model number, or set up. I will have links to contributors in the reference section, in the code, and will also add to this tutorial as I see fit. From ZS models, to FC models, to the strangest of the strange, this tutorial is meant to work with all HC's, and will hopefully adapt to help this purpose over time.

The setup we will be using is just a simple blink over Bluetooth serial program, but I currently have a setup for my BB-8 which uses an ultrasonic sensor in the dome to control the drive system in the ball.

It will soon be able to roll around autonomously, and I will link to that instructable here when it is done. Did you use this instructable in your classroom? Add a Teacher Note to share how you incorporated it into your lesson. Two Arduino Boards I am using a nano, and an uno, but I am sure a mega, and some others would work.

Push Button any kind will work, but the one I started out with began to slip out of the breadboard. There will be a small button connected to the En pin, it should be on the lower right hand side of the face with the electronics.

Powershell module packaging

If you don't have this button, skip to the next step, but if you do, follow the wiring above, and annotated below. If you do not have a button on your EN pin, in order to initialize AT mode, you will need to power the key pin with a refresh.

The only change in the wiring is attaching pin 9 to your key pin.

If you do have a button on your EN pin, skip this step! Arduino 1 Mine is the nano Plug the bluetooth module into the breadboard to the right of the nano. Bridge the push button across the middle of the breadboard to the right of the bluetooth module. First, upload the code named BluetoothModuleMasterAndSlaveNoCode below to whatever arduino is connected to the bluetooth module you are currently configuring.

Next, unplug the power to your bluetooth module, hold the button down, and plug the power back in, then release the button. This should put the bluetooth module into AT mode causing it to blink on, and off every 2 seconds, as seen in the video above. First, upload the code named MasterAndSlaveBluetoothNoCodeKeyPin below to whatever arduino is connected to the bluetooth module you are currently configuring.

This should cause your HC to enter into AT mode when the arduino is refreshed, to do this Now, plug the power pin in, and the HC should be blinking on, and off every 2 seconds, signifying at mode. If this doesn't work, please check out techbitar's tutorial, and then come back for the next step. Connect to the computer to the port connected to the arduino which is connected to the bluetooth module you wish to configure.

Select as your baud rate, and both nl, and cr.

If this config doesn't work, comment below, or go to one of the other links, and I will try to help. Now, type AT, and hit enter. You should get a message saying OK, but if you get an error, try one more time until you seek help.

It should beif it is, move on, if not, try the next step, then check again using this command. The baud rate must be the same for both modules, and this is often where things go wrong. If the next step doesn't fix it, leave a comment. You should get an address like the one shown in the videoor something similar. Write this down, you will need it later.

Connect to the computer to the port connected to the arduino which is connected to the bluetooth module you wish to configure not the same one as before, which is now the slave. Want to know more? From the previous project, it has been already learned to configure control parameters of a Bluetooth Module. In this project, it will be demonstrated that how two Bluetooth modules can be paired together and allowed to share data between them. For pairing of two Bluetooth modules, one of them needs to be configured to Master role and other needs to be configured to Slave role. In order start sharing data between the modules, both the modules should have communication mode enabled by setting CMODE parameter set to 1.

In this project, two Bluetooth modules are used. The Bluetooth modules are interfaced to different Arduino Pro Mini boards which are connected to different computers running Arduino Serial Monitor application.

Any hyper terminal application can be used for passing AT commands and data to be shared between the modules. The Arduino sketch used in this project is designed to exchange commands and data in an uninterrupted fashion.

The Arduino Pro Mini boards manage the exchange of data between the serial application on the desktop computer and the respective Bluetooth module.

The circuit on both the master and slave sides is assembled the same way in the following manner —. Power Supply — The circuit is powered by the battery which directly supplies to the Arduino board and the Bluetooth module. It operates on ISM band 2.

It can work in both Master and slave modes. The Enable and State pin are unused and so not connected in the circuit. These connections are summarized in the table below —. Apart from these connections, the 34th pin of the module is wired to the pin 9 of the Arduino Pro Mini.

Desktop Computer — The computer is connected to the Arduino board through USB cable and transfers serial data to the board through Virtual serial communication using a hyper terminal application. Both the modules receive the user entered AT commands from the hyper terminal application on the respective computers.

The commands are serially read over virtual serial communication and passed to the Bluetooth modules. The Bluetooth modules respond to the AT commands and the responses are again serially read and transferred to the desktop application. First one of the modules needs to be configured to Master role for which following steps need to be executed —.

These steps can be implemented by running the AT commands and changing the following configuration parameters —. For configuring the other module as slave, following steps need to be taken —.

Therefore for pairing the two modules following configuration parameters must be changed and taken note of. The baud rate of both the modules should be same which is set0, 0 in the project demonstration.

The default role a is slave with value 0 which need not be changed in the other module.Load previous or next memory slot.

Press both buttons to unload memory slot. Press and hold both buttons for 2. Suggestion: Connect the console official controller here for authentication and other console specific features, such as controller headset, chatpad, touchpad, motion sensor, etc.

Required when the overall power exceeds the maximum power of USB port 2. Programming port to connect the Titan Two to the computer. Output USB Port. Use this port to connect the Titan Two to the console. An original controller of the console is required for authentication and for console specific features, such as controller headset, chatpad, touchpad, motion sensor, etc. This controller will have precedence over any other controller connected to the Titan Two, meaning the commands executed on this controller will supersede the commands from the subsequent controllers in the priority chain.
